[ Pdf Sleep Like a Baby À anthologies PDF ] by Charlaine Harris µ Aurora Teagarden and her husband Robin have finally welcomed their new baby Sophie into their family and have begun their adventure into parenting Robin is up for a pretty important award for his latest book and has planned to leave town for a couple of days for the ceremony with Roe staying at home with little Sophie However, right as Robin is packing up to leave Roe begins to feel a bit ill leaving the couple wondering if he should cancel or continue on the trip Robin gets the idea that they should give the nanny a call that had helped them right after the birth and with her coming in a nights to help Roe along with her stepbrother Philip pitching in all should be well while he is away After Robin leaves Roe realizes that this is than the common cold as she begins to feel worse and worse sleeping as much as she can while the nanny and her stepbrother help with Sophie Roe awakens one night to find Sophie wailing away through the baby monitor next to Roe s bed so she drags herself up to check on her daughter wondering where the nanny has gone Once Sophie has been fed Roe begins to search for the missing nanny only to find a body in the backyard that is not the missing Virginia Now the question for the police and Roe is just who is this mystery woman and just where had the nanny gone Sleep Like a Baby by Charlaine Harris is the tenth book in the Aurora Teagarden cozy mystery series The series introduced readers to the character of Aurora Roe Teagarden who is a small town librarian in Lawrenceton, Georgia who had joined the Real Murders Club who met once a month to discuss the books they had read based on true crimes but then actual murders had begun happening bringing Roe into the middle of the investigation and since those days bad luck just seems to follow as Roe continues to find herself in sticky situations Each book has a separate murder s to solve and could possibly be read separately but the series also carries over a lot of characters around the town and in Roe s private life through each read This particular title also focuses on some things from the past so it would probably leave a new reader a bit out of the loop jumping in this late As a fan of this series I was excited to see the changes in Roe s life just jumping from the pages in this book The days of the single librarian have certainly changed from the earlier stories as now Roe is a mommy to her new baby daughter so much of the book had that mommy feel of being proud and protective of her little one On the mystery side of the story the plot was another one that kept me wondering just how it would turn out and what possibly could have happened on that fateful night that left one woman missing and another murdered There s still plenty of action and excitement for the new mom all during the story as different events lead to the case finally being solved In the end this is a great series with very likable characters that I quite enjoy and would definitely recommend to the fans of cozy mysteries I received an advance copy of Sleep Like a Baby from the publisher.
For reviews please visit I had low expectations for this one because I wasn t a fan of the previous novel in the series Thankfully, this one was a better read but I am left with some mixed feelings I half want the series to continue but there s also a part of me that thinks it should be put to rest It s kinda coasting on fumes at this point.
Aurora Teagarden and her husband, Robin, are now the proud parents of baby Sophie While adjusting to the demands of motherhood, Aurora comes down with the flu Robin is flying off to an awards banquet so it is arranged for a baby nurse named Virginia to come and help out But it wouldn t be an Aurora Teagarden novel without something going terribly wrong In this case, Virginia goes missing and a woman s dead body is found in the backyard Is the local police going to be forced to solve this on their own now that Aurora is not only sick but has an infant to tend to Oh please, you just know Aurora is somehow going to find herself in the middle of this one.
I specifically chose this book because I wasn t feeling well and I just wanted a mindless read so I totally related to Aurora feeling like crap I ve come to realize I just don t really care for Robin as a character all that much so I didn t mind that he was absent for part of the story For the most part I did like how some stuff from an earlier novel in the series was tied in to what was going on in this one Overall, this isn t one of the stronger books she has written but it was an improvement over the last one for sure.

You know what I found scary about Sleep Like a Baby How much Roe s and my life are alike right now We both just had a baby her first and my last We are both nursing moms who lives revolve around our babies We both got sick she with the flu and me with strep Now she did find a dead body in her backyard and I found a dead mouse in mine So that is where the similarities end.
Seriously though, Sleep Like a Baby is a wonderful continuation of the Aurora Teagarden series So easy to read, I picked it up just to see what it was about and in less than 24 hours I had finished it The story moves at a great pace and just pulls you in The mystery keeps you guessing and the characters make it interesting What could you want from a book I do highly recommend that if you want to enjoy this book to its fullest then you should read the entire series in order None of the books are super long so it won t take you forever to get through them Each one of them is unique and I know I have enjoyed reading them This is an enjoyable mystery series and one I always recommend to my friends and family Now I am patiently waiting for the next book to be released I have enjoyed this series in the past, but this will likely be the last one that I read There was far too much focus on feeding the baby, changing the baby, etc I felt it detracted from the story.
Now that is an interesting ending with a question that can truly be debated I won t put the question here because it is a huge spoiler I love these comfy mystery series because of the connection readers get to the characters When you do the wait for the next book then start reading it, you just feel like you are visiting old friends and playing Clue It is great It is no secret I love Charlaine Harris books because I am pretty certain she is my most read author in my GR stats but without being bias, I can say that some of the installments in her series can be predictable but still enjoyable This is not a big ending I predicated at all I was engrossed for a one sitting read waiting to get multiple questions answered and afterwards I was completely satisfied Roe and Robin, new parents to a beautiful baby girl are adorable Their love for each other and their child is written so wonderfully Roe, is sick and Robin will be out of town so he calls in the woman who helped care for Roe and the baby before Roe is relieved she can sleep and know that all is taken care of while she recuperates Well things just can t be that easy, nope Roe wakes to her baby wailing, her care taker missing and there is a dead body in the backyard that is not the caretaker Things get weird, strained and sometimes ugly from there.
I loved this edition to the series we really got to see their relationship at work and it s a good one I love a good solid relationship Phillip her 1 2 brother was a stand up guy who held than his own I am always happy after I finish a Charlaine Harris book Now I wait for.
Why do I keep reading these when I don t like the writing or any of the characters Is it because I solve the mystery so early and it makes me feel like a genius, criminal mastermind Is it because I have some strange allegiance to the characters or a writer I ve never met I quit If you see me with another one of these books, slap it out of my hand.
Sleep Like a Baby just didn t do much for me I don t know what happened, but if this is the new Aurora Teagarden, I won t be reading much There was a mystery in Sleep Like a Baby, but my goodness was it boring getting to the answers We get information on how Aurora feeds, changes and takes care of her baby than solving any mystery that was supposed to be included in the story I get it, she s a new mom, but if I wanted to read about the care and feeding of a baby, I would have picked up a parenting book.
There really isn t much I could possibly say about Sleep Like a Baby, because not much happened between the front and back cover Yeah, I was disappointed too This book was provided free of charge from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
